EMBRACE HAPPINESS


All of us are aware of the fact that happiness is not a thing to be owned, it is something that can only be felt. Then why do we all chase happiness?

As Osho puts it, everything in the world runs according to the law, 'you create the cause and the effect follows'. But there is another law which governs still deeper than this - Produce the effect and the cause follows. There is a situation in which you feel happy, say a friend has come and you feel happy. Here, feeling happy is the effect and coming of friend is the cause. Now try this- Create the effect and the cause follows. Be happy and the friend will come.

If you're sitting in your room and watching TV and your mother is scolding you for the messy room. There is a loud music being played in the room nearby. Now, out of these three noises, which one do you hear depends on which one you focus on. Similarly, at any particular moment, there are more than one causes of being happy or being sad. It depends on us which cause we allow to affect us.

Happiness is the God of small things. If we keep on waiting for big things to happen- being master of a million dollar, getting your love, being the king of world etc., the small things that give happiness get neglected. In other words, the more we chase happiness, the farther it gets from us.



Why to wait for the pomp and show?

When each moment is a celebration

and there is a celebration in each mo.



When every moment is like a carnival,

Be it so big or be it trivial

It is a moment to sing, moment to dance,

then why to wait for a hard-earned chance?



So celebrate the surprises that are given by life

The pleasure in gains and even the pain in strife.

Caress the innocence in smile of a 3-yr old child

The beauty of a flower, even the atrocity of the wild.



Sway along the trees when they wave to welcome the wind in flight

Shine along the night when it bathes in the beautiful moon-light.



Sing along the music of river as it flows

Dance when the sound from bells of temple echoes.



Weigh the joy in little things, be it as light as snow

Produce the effect of being happy and the cause will follow.



Thoughts become things, just keep this in mind

Think you got those all, and to all those wishes, Universe will be kind.



So break the cold

Do not wait to be told

Make merry and rejoice

Pick up a color of your choice

And paint every instant of today

with brushes of dreams in your very own way.

Wait not for a festival or a party next door

Make each moment a celebration

And find celebration in each mo.
